COMMISSIONED WORK/THE MOLOK:
Molok is a 13′-tall live-action kinetic sculpture created by artist Annalisa Barron to be brought to life as the human-powered monster in The Molok film. The sculpture was commissioned by The Molok co-creators Sam T. Wilson and Xander Chauncey in Fall 2017 and created a community based on shared memories told through storied items.
Part of The Molok‘s mission was to plant a seed for further developing non-CG forms of filmmaking that are spectacular not because they are perfectly rendered, but because they exist in our tactile reality and contain insight into the human experience.
Sponsored by the New York Foundation for the Arts, the sculpture received object offerings from over 100+ donors, including the Orange County Choppers.
