The Skew Series (3D)
The Skew Series riffs off the behavior of bending rings of light in Newton’s Rings. Each piece is a caricature, of a scene or interaction, being squeezed through a lens and split into continuous contorting colors. They are a meditation on distortions in perception caused by desire, ambition and unconscious schemas. The sculpture in this series is made with Bausch + Lomb optical glass from the Genessee River in Rochester, NY, forged steel, raku fired ceramic and wood.
